This week, I was a speaker at Paris Blockchain Week, a gathering of over 10,000 company executives, entrepreneurs, investors, developers, and thought leaders in blockchain and web3 at Carousel du Louvre.

This is one of the most important international events in the blockchain sector taking place in one of the world’s most exciting cities!

As I shared on twitter earlier today, my five year old self struggled with the confidence to dream big, but as I grew older, I saw the opportunity to create a bridge for the younger generation.

In a world that often treats women as inferior or second-class citizens, IWD is a reflection of the work we do each day at BB. Every day, we strive to make progress and change for the women of today and the younger generation to follow.

In the spirit of this special day and all month long for Women's History Month, I invite our BB community to share the stories of the women in their lives for whom they're grateful—the women who don't always get the recognition they deserve. Who helped you achieve your dreams and inspire a dynamic change in your life? Maybe it was your mom, a teacher, a friend, a coach, a mentor, or someone else who gave you a career opportunity.✨

As you know from our recent job postings, we’re excited to announce that our team is growing!! That’s right @everyone, Boss Beauties is doing some incredible things behind the scenes and we’re bringing on even more amazing people to help fight the good fight.

As Boss Beauties continues to grow, we’re restructuring to fit the evolving needs of the business and community. One of the changes you’ll notice is that our Boss Mods role has now changed to “Ambassador.” They’ve evolved! These incredible BBs won’t be actively working as Mods as they did in the past, but will remain as distinguished BB Club members. Moving forward, our “Mods” will be named “Community Specialists” and we’re excited to introduce you to the new hires next week. If you have any questions or need support on anything, feel free to tag @​teerock or open a support ticket.

Tee and the team have also been working hard on a Discord redesign and new community programs. Plus we’ll be able to share more on what’s coming up for BB soon! (Hint hint, we’re building some much needed programs and tech, solving real-world problems through web3)

We have been able to share approximately 25.9K free ODENTITY portraits. There are 21,375 wallets that hold the ODENTITY portraits, of which 15,899 of those wallets are NEW wallets from the first airdrop on Galentine’s Day, 2/13. All OG BB holders received their NARS-transformed OG BB, the ODENTITY profile picture, on or after 2/11.

One key number that is especially exciting here is the 15,899 new wallets that were setup through this partnership so far. This metric is exciting as it connects back to our mission of onboarding more women and girls into web3.

Starting from today (January 19th 2023), our BB Discord server will remain open 24 hours around the clock from Mondays - Saturdays. Our server will remain fully closed on Sundays to encourage what we officially call Beauty Rest for our community and team, so that everyone can take some time off their screens. With regular security monitoring, education & maintenance, we will continue to ensure that we all remain safe and protected in Web3 and take the necessary steps to stay vigilant on a personal level.

This morning we welcomed three new interns who will be with us for the next few weeks! For the second year in a row, Boss Beauties is partnering with Break Through Tech (breakthroughtech.org) to host a Sprinternship, a three-week, full-time paid internship where three students will be joining our team to focus on a specific project. 

Break Through Tech's mission is to help bring more women and girls into computer science and careers in STEM. Over the last five years, Break Through Tech has partnered with over 125 companies to host Sprinterns during academic breaks, to provide opportunities for girls to bridge the gap between college and career. The goal of the Sprinternship is to give the students experience that increases their chance of landing a paid summer internship, and completing a Sprinternship has been shown to increase more than tenfold the likelihood that a student will receive a paid summer internship offer.

We can't wait to show you more about the project they are working on - it's going to be a really integral part of our #BBImpact strategy!

If you missed seeing it on Twitter, our team met in person this week to do some intense 2023-2030 strategy sessions across all our various departments. The rest of December we'll be heads down prepping for 2023 and we'll have a large update/announcement beginning of Jan to go through everything. There is so much in the works and we couldn't be more excited!

2023 is going to be big. 🔥

We also wanted to give a small update on security. After our last cyber criminal attack earlier this year, one of the things we quickly did was bring on a full time cyber security company in addition to our incredible mods. They've been working behind the scenes ever since, monitoring all our tech touch points 24/7, to make sure that everything our community touches is safe - from Discord to our websites, minting processes, emails and every other tiny detail.

The Security company just completed an audit of Discord and noticed that there are thousands of fake accounts across all discord servers in the NFT space. So in order to be proactive, they performed a clean of ours to protect everyone here. It is possible that someone who has been inactive for 3+ months may have been kicked during the process, but they can simply rejoin at their leisure. This is all just normal, routine cyber security maintenance.

That’s right BBs! After weeks of internal points restructuring, working alongside both external advisors and a few community members, we are happily announcing the revised bonus points structure for Super BBs 💎

We took everyone’s thoughts and opinions to heart and have structured this in a way that gives a TON of value to the original BB collection, while also looking carefully at the cost and rarity of gems vs. points given for upgrades, points given to a team of 5 Supers vs. fully maxed Supers and more. Dozens of variations were created and debated, and the combined forces of everyone involved feel this tokenomic structure is a win for everyone.

TLDR:

1. All staked Supers receive their daily points based on staking level.


2. You must hold an OG BB to unlock your monthly bonus points. 
1 OG BB unlocks bonus points for 1 Super BB. 
2 OG BBs unlock bonus points for 2 Super BBs
 etc


3. The Staking page will be updated to show your OG BBs as well, so you can easily tell which of your Supers are getting their bonus points (see the document above for info on how they are being matched. Devs are currently working on it.)


4. Value + Fun rolled into one!

The first round of monthly bonus points will happen for December, so make sure you have your Supers staked and ready to go!

Also - congratulations to everyone who has reached staking Level 2!! 🎉

If your Super is still showing Level 1 on Opensea, just hit the manual refresh button and Opensea will update your Super’s metadata. Unfortunately Opensea doesn’t do this automatically. Sometimes they need a little push 😉

As you know, we’re in the season for giving thanks, the holidays are around the corner and Macy’s has partnered with Boss Beauties for an exclusive opportunity! In celebration of the 96th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Macy’s has given BB the possible opportunity be made into a Macy’s Parade balloon for the 2023 holiday, but ONLY with your help can we make this a reality.

A virtual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is coming to the metaverse.

We are thrilled to announce BB Impact, our new social impact arm of Boss Beauties that will focus on research and advocacy, continuing to build unique global mentorship programs, and funding scholarships for girls around the world through the Boss Beauties Foundation.

💭 What does this mean?? BB Impact will be publishing our own research, starting next year with our first global survey of girls and their caregivers, exploring knowledge gaps in emerging online technologies, to help inform policymakers, businesses, and the wider tech community. We will be expanding our Future CEO summer mentorship program, reaching more women around the world and giving brands a chance to partner with us as well. BB Impact also means more engagement with our community, showcasing the work you are doing to serve women and girls in your own communities.

📚 Our work will continue to help fund the Boss Beauties Foundation, allowing us to do even more to support girls education on a global scale, through scholarships with strategic nonprofit partners.

We are so excited for this next chapter, and want to thank everyone for your support as we continue to grow!🥰

First up: SQUAD CHATS.

That's right, now you will have private squad chats available to help build up your team and collaborate with others in your squad 🙂 You need to go into #🟪-verify-beauty and simply reverify (if you've already verified, you shouldn't need to reconnect your wallet a second time just select the wallet you want to check for squads) and it'll detect which squads your tokens belong to and give you instant access. You can also wait for collab.land to simply do its rights and it should add those roles for you.

We also have some announcement roles! If you head over to #✨-choose-roles you'll notice some new roles that you can select to be notified of things like alpha, giveaways, and learning more about NFT's if you are new! You will also need these roles to have access to the channels associated with them.
