A) Game and Web 3 Development

Our game development efforts are currently focused on improving two key metrics: onboarding and retention, and daily active users (DAU). Here are the highlights of our current priorities:

• Enhance the onboarding experience: We are working on improving the user experience from browsing our collection on OpenSea to engaging with our Discord community and participating in the game. This includes revamping Gen 1 2D Art, creating better video content, and introducing in-game tutorials


• Increase DAU: We plan to make the PC client available on more platforms to boost daily active users


• Amour System: We're developing a system where different face-traits provide various stats to the fighters, adding another aspect to consider when choosing a fighter


• Updated Toon Visual: We're optimizing the game's visuals for the upcoming PC version


• Updated UI: We're revamping the entire sci-fi style UI theme for a fresh new look in upcoming game builds


• Improved Cloud Content Delivery (CCD) system: To optimize the game client's size, we're implementing real-time cloud data synchronization for models and materials


• Tournament Mode with Fractal Studio: We're collaborating with Fractal Studio to implement tournament mode features, including the API for admins to create custom tournaments.

B) Business Development & Marketing

• We partnered with Hasbro to release a limited-edition Monopoly game, with release plan details to be shared soon


• We also introduced Discord Forums to streamline information accessibility and improve the user onboarding experience last week as part of our efforts to improve onboarding


• Rolling out access to new Forums in the Discord Server, starting with BattlePass holders, and gathering feedback for improvements


• Actively seeking qualified content creators to expand and enhance social media presence across multiple platforms


• We are preparing to roll out a fresh content strategy in April, aiming to build a footprint in the overarching gaming space and attract gamers beyond the web3 community

C) Community

• We are announcing upcoming events and providing tournament sign-up links for our community, offering opportunities for engagement and competition


• Processing shipping details for hoodies, with tracking numbers expected to be released soon


• Hosting March Twitter Competition with great prizes, including top-notch GEN2 items


• Sharing tournament results and celebrating participants' success, fostering a sense of camaraderie and achievement within the community


• Gathering feedback and ideas from the community on game balancing, PFP art, weapons value, and general roadmap possibilities for continuous improvement


• We are adjusting the weapons points table for upcoming events to balance gameplay and ensure fairness, addressing the shield meta's impact on gameplay

SUMMARY

A) Game and Web 3 Development

• After speaking to the community we have once again reviewed our priorities for the game development team and have decided to focus on a few major features 1) Gen 1 art revamp (this requires the addition of face traits and armour 2) Creating PC client for GFC main game 3) Create social system and ability to queue with friends 


• We have already started on the face trait creation and are now working on integration and in-game optimization with this added level of detail which will be the bulk of the work 


• Besides preparing the GFC Battle Royale Trailer we also added a number of new system features which includes a new Battle Royale Bot System, new UI management system, reworked weapons sell well as some backend improvements such as the implementation of SRP batching to speed up CPU rendering times 

B) Business Development & Marketing

• We believe GFC has done well in terms of marketing and exposure from a traffic standpoint, in fact from our Cross-IP finals we got over 330K views across different influencers and platforms including Instagram, Youtube, Facebook and Telegram 


• What we want to improve on is the conversion aspect, how can we convert this traffic into real players or participants in our ecosystem? and not just viewers or players who stay for particular one-off tournaments and leave immediately 


• We believe the solution consists of two parts 1) further streamlining the onboarding experience across all customer touch-points from the Discord onboarding process (expect some degree of revamping this week) to in-game tutorials 2) Create additional incentives for players to stick around (improve retention) through integrating social features and expanding the GFC ecosystem and giving existing in-game resources more utility 


• As part of these efforts, we are looking to revamp the art for Gen 1, and we are sharing this process and our progress live within the #💳︱battlepass-owners channel


• In other news we also got listed on Blur but that meant a separation of Death Robots away from our main Gen 1 collection on Opensea; if you are in Europe stop by BerlinWeb3 where Yas will be speaking at 

C) Community

• Throughout our development cycle we have had to balance between developing what we believe are of the highest priorities internally and of developing features requested by the community


• For the past 12 months or so most of our features have been suggested by the community or community-driven, for example adjusting matchmaking algorithm, reworking forging costs structure, adding in weapon breakdown feature/un-forging system, creating option for custom team and friend matchup, Battle Royale game mode, tournament points system integration in game, AI bots rework, new maps, breaking out the collections to get on blur, running qualifiers for each tournament partner


• As we move forward we want to continue down this path of engaging with the community and implementing features suggested from the community that we feel fit into our wider roadmap. As part of this effort, we will start conducting periodic calls with doctores to gather feedback 


• What a couple of weeks post Cross-IP Championship! The GFC Team handed out HUNDREDS of NFT prizes and tokens to about 100 players so far!! 


• New Discord #📜︱start-here sections to make our eco system more accessible to new members with several new categories added


• Wrapped the February twitter comp with 20 TOTAL WINNERS and dished out prizes with our usual draft and NFT Rewards pot. March Event now open use #MarchMadnessGFC to enter.


• Held test run for a Holder Only event with BetrayThePaca taking the win from the Losers Bracket


• Weapons Points table will be updated for the rest of March events


• Hoodie Run will be shipped out this week!

@Battle Pass Owners We are rounding up the last of the GFC HOODIE addresses. It has been a hectic couple of weeks with the Cross IP Events, want to make sure we do not miss anyone. Please ping me in a DM if you:

We will select some hoodie winners from the Feb twitter comp as well as some stand out performers from Cross IP Events!

@GFC Degen reminder that twitter competition for February is extended to Saturday March 4th so you can add in some Cross IP threads and content!

Also, I had made some request to have final Cross-IP matches played for some tiebreaker - its tough for some teams to re-organize so we will keep the positions as draws and distribute rewards accordingly. If you already played the matches sync with me and we will honor those results for tiebreaker.

SUMMARY:

A) Game and Web 3 Development

• GFC companion as a new feature is close to completion and we are now working on some new companions, some of the modeling work on these new types of companions are shown below


• Developed new tournament mode with Fractal studio to better facilitate future tournaments, while we are implementing Fractal's tournament API to have each tournament result synced to their leaderboard page, we are also building out internal databases to keep track of tournament results


• Adding in weapon point logic into tournaments, previously this had been done manually, we are now adding this as a new feature to reduce manual labor and streamline the process of running the tournament


• BYOPills cooldown feature is close to implementation, endpoints and databases for this feature have been tested and are ready to be implemented into the game client


• We are adding asset delegation/smart contract wallet compatibility to our dashboard and GCOIN claiming, once implemented this will allow users to interact with our ecosystem without exposing their vaults or cold wallets 


• We will be separating out our main Gen 1 collection with the Death Robot collection into two separate collections in the next few days, this will allow us to be listed on the Blur marketplace 


• Battle Royale development comes close to an end, and we are starting to work on the server side logic and features, see below on the sub-tasks breakdown for more information on the progress on each 

b) Business Development & Marketing

• Bi-weekly update was slightly delayed this time as the team have been focusing on the cross-IP championship. The official Galaxy Fight Club Cross-IP Championship has now officially ended, and we want to thank all our amazing community members for participating and enjoying this opportunity and experience alongside us


• With the conclusion of the Cross-IP tournament we saw a lot of the benefits that we expected from the tournament come to fruition, especially when it comes to increased DAU and exposure all throughout the qualifiers, the finals obviously had less active players since there are less teams involved towards the final stages but that's to be expected. More data will be shared on our stream viewership numbers once the analytics from our streamers have been received

• This past weekend, Yas also represented Galaxy Fight Club in attending NFT Paris, he was able to build some amazing new relationships with other top-tier projects, investors, guilds, influencers and more.

They leapfrogged DEGEN GUILD (representing Goons of Balatroon) from the deadly bottom bracket to defeat the clear 2nd best in the event, TeamPlaySafe.

There will be much more to come in regards to prize distribution and tournament write up in this weeks Dev Blog.

Housekeeping, there may be a few follow up matches to determine specific mid group seeding, will be in contact with appropriate teams.

In closing, this tournament was a LONG time coming - thank you to participants and partner projects for hanging in there and pulling off the first ever Cross IP championship event of its kind.

You all made a bit of history in the NFT Space this week… we integrated and received participation from 36 different NFT projects, with players from all across the globe. Pat yourselves back for leaning in and thank you again for joining us in the Bruna 8 Arena!!!

Please find your Groups attached. You will play EACH team in your group in two matches. Going 2-0 is a win, going 1-1 is a tie. 8 points, tournament mode, must play as partner nft you qualify for, no christmas specials, BYOPills are welcome.

Win = 3 points
Tie = 1 point
Loss = 0 points

Tiebreaker is total kills.

I will be creating private discord chats with EACH group to coordinate matches this week. We need to complete all matches before Friday February 24.

The lower two seeds from EACH group (3rd and 4th place) will go to the bottom bracket to compete on Sunday February 25 8am EST. The best they can finish is 25th overall, but the more you win = better the prizes. There will be 24 teams in this tournament. Double elimination single matches.

The lower higher seeds from EACH group (1st and 2nd place) will go to the top bracket to compete on Sunday February 26 7:15am EST. This is where we will compete for the true Cross-IP Champion. There will be 24 teams in this tournament. Double elimination single matches.

The lower bracket ONLY competes for better prizes, not for the #1 overall spot.

Please note the updated points sheet to account for GEN1 rare weapons from 2.5 --> 3 points.
