About Wanjigallery:
Wanjigallery is a Kenyan woman, photographer, and digital artist. Losing her job led her to pursue photography and she has since become a freelance photographer. Through that, she discovered digital collage art. She is self-taught and has been practicing her collage art for over a year and a half.
We are thrilled to have Wanjigallery with us this month and look forward to uplifting her in her endeavor to promote both African culture and mental health awareness:

“Most of the subjects in my pieces are photographs that I've taken and used to make art. Some photographs were purposely shot to make (these collage) pieces while others were shot randomly to be a source of inspiration for a (given) piece. My main focus is on mental health and promoting African culture. I derive my inspiration from my environment and the circumstances in my life.”

For some, a safe space could mean spending time with family, or a daily ritual or going to the gym.
So what is it about these spaces that make us feel safe? Is it the things that fill it? The feeling it brings? What makes it YOUR safe space?
It’s probably difficult to answer these questions because safe spaces are so deeply personal. You chose it to be your place of comfort, a place that’s judgment free.
Safe spaces don’t coddle us or blind us from the realities of our world. They offer us a brief opportunity to be vulnerable and let down our guard without fear of judgment or harm.
This piece of art was made in collaboration with the community’s responses to what their dream indoor safe space looks like.
Our safe spaces are defined by our emotions and experiences. They don’t need to be pretty, popular, or perfect. They just need to be ours!

We are closing today on a note that reflects the holiday spirit. This week we have not one, but THREE angel grants to announce! Warmest congratulations to our three winners 🎉

Our first grant goes to @​EpicRebecca. Rebecca is a single mom and business owner who often has to travel for work. This grant will go toward helping her cover costs for trips required to secure new clients. The next angel grant goes to @​Caramella8181| Cranky, who plans to use the funds to help with costs related to medical school. Ivan is on his way to becoming a specialist in ophthalmology, and dreams of one day opening up his own health-tech startup business! Our last angel grant is for @​bichonroo who will use the 0.25Ξ to help fund a new laptop - her current is from 2010! - so that she can continue to learn coding and enhance her Web3 Solidity skills.
We also want to thank and acknowledge each and every one of you who sent in one of the hundreds of applications we received over the last several months. We value you and recognize all of the heartfelt requests and wishes that you took the time to send to us. Thank you 🙏

As we prepare to wind down the Meta Angels discord, we want to take a moment to acknowledge each of you, original and new members alike, and thank you for being part of our community.

When we embarked on this adventure just over a year ago, we could never have foreseen what was to come: a mint that sold out in pre-sale, a community where true magic happened (so many community wishes granted!), our Artist-in-Residence partnership with Adobe, our WeAreWeb3 event at NFT.NYC, being nominated for best smart contract innovation, and so much more.

What an incredible ride we’ve had so far… and we’re incredibly excited to continue to grow the magic of Meta Angels under the umbrella of the parent company led by OG Meta Angel @​RandiZuckerberg.

As a first step in the broader integration, we have created a new haven for all @Angels on the HUG discord. If you haven't yet joined, we encourage you to do so within the next few days: https://discord.gg/thehugxyz.

Starting next Friday, December 23, this discord will transition to a read-only format. You’ll still be able to find information about Meta Angels and reference past conversations, but we’ll be fully transitioning to the HUG server after that day. You’ll be able to find us there, as well as your fellow Meta Angels community members, and the Wishing Well! I know it may feel bittersweet, but this is only the beginning!

Angel Grant Winner

Our grant winner this week is @​atlantacoffeeshops! Atlanta Coffee Shops will use the grant to continue his coffee blogging adventures. By profiling hundreds of local coffee shops, he's already managed to create quite a useful resource for Atlanta area visitors. We hope the grant will help him expand his radius! Angels can now verify their holdings in the HUG discord! Doing so will grant you access to all of the holder channels: Make sure to check out the Welcome Wing (for Angel newbies) and the General Chat, the main hangout for holders. Our Wishing Well has also made the official migration!
