1: Game Jam News

Game Jam veterans may have noticed that there is no option to upload a trailer to the submission form.

This is because we want you to focus entirely on creating your game! You will receive another form to submit your trailer and Experience Page metadata.

Deadline for this form will be 2 weeks after the final deadline. Completing the form is optional but highly recommended!

This takes effect from the ongoing Year's End Game Jam and all Game Jams after that.

2: Year's End Game Jam Update

If you registered for the Year's End Game Jam you should have received an email from us on Friday.

A couple of you reported that you did not receive the first email - if you did not receive the Friday 15th email, please let me know by submitting a ticket in #📌︱game-maker-support and tag me in the ticket.

Hello everyone! Here with another Game Jam update as we made a small change to the structure!

✅ We now have a Bug-Fixing Phase - Please make sure you read the rules carefully for this in the Medium article or on the Event Dashboard.

Additionally, a reminder of some of our new changes & rules that were first introduced for the Halloween Game Jam but are still important for Year's End

✅ Registration phase - You now have to register for our Game Jams. Please remember to do so!
✅ Registration email - You'll get an email from gamejams@sandbox.game on launch. Make sure you provide a valid email as it contains important information.
✅ Theme Reveal - We will only reveal the full theme of the Game Jams on the kick-off date stated in the Mediums. Do not start creating your games before then.
✅ Experience Size - We now require you to make games no larger than 1x1.
✅ Other - Small adjustments to rules, voting criteria, and guidelines have been made. Read everything carefully!

Looking forward to finish this year off with a blast with you all 🥳

Following feedback from some of you who are experiencing issues loading your drafts in the Game Maker version sent to you for the Game Jam, I'd like to make a quick update.

We are hoping to have a fixed version ready soon.

In the meantime, here is something that you may try:

Make sure that all assets used in your draft are published. Doing this may fix it for you.
