Pixl Pets Dev Blog #16
This blog features a video recap of the team's visit to Denver, USA where we conducted a live playtest of the Pixl Pets PVP module. Our first time showing off the game in public gave us incredible amounts of energy to keep pushing due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback (and the helpful comments for improvement!)
In addition, check out a teaser to our upcoming trailer -- featuring brand new IP, world building lore, and showcasing the grand vision of the game.

It's been a long and rough year for NFTs.

It's that time again.
In this blog, we've attached a bunch of visuals, music, storyboards, character concept art, UI/UX iterations, and a recap of all the feedback we've gained through testing.
Alpha tests as a whole have been going great, and progress has accelerated as we inch toward a more complete PvP module. We'll be looking to expand the current focus group to a much larger group of ecosystem participants ( and other asset holders) as we begin our gradual rollout of alpha testing and prepare for the next stage of the entire Sappy Seals/Pixl Labs ecosystem.

I mentioned previously that we are going to be taking steps to scale Sappy Seals beyond web3, and it starts with growing through traditional platforms to hit normie eyes outside of the echochamber.
We have a bunch of content that will be continuously deployed that captures the charm of seals; the fun and silly nature that we all know and love. The growth of the seals IP accelerates here.
Alongside this, we've also been cooking in the lab and have created generative content that'll help every seal grow a presence on other social media platform (more on this later). We should be able to create a barrage of content that floods socials if everyone starts posting their own content and reposting each other's. So that's going to be a lot of fun.

Pixl Pets Alpha Schedule
The time for the long-awaited Pixl Pets alpha has come!
We are happy to announce that the first round of testing has been locked in and kicks off this week
This first alpha will be conducted in three phases which are detailed below.
Phase 1
Two tests will take place on both Sunday 7th May & Thursday 11th May.
On these days the test server will be open for two 3-hour sessions at and
This group of players have already been hand-selected to participate in these four scheduled playtests.
Phase 2
This phase will involve a continuous onboarding of holders that are deep within the ecosystem. This includes holders that are holding FPs, Pixl Pets, Seals etc. It will not include every single holder as this would not make sense for efficiently collecting and collating feedback at this point.
Those that have expressed interest through constant participation will be prioritized here.
Phase 3
More holders will be onboarded into the playtesting Discord throughout this phase, similarly to phase 2.
We will also release a form in which you can apply to take part in this phase, and will be picking players from various backgrounds.
Additional Info
It has taken a while to get to this point and we have had several hiccups, but we'd like to thank you all for your continued patience and support. Alpha tests are not the most revolutionary thing ever, but this marks the first major milestone in the Pixlverse development cycle.
We're going to be able to show off a lot more and be a lot more vocal publicly as time progresses and as this gets into more and more people's hands.

ZepetoX Partnership
Zepeto is a 'metaverse' platform that boasts over 400M users (global audience with a strong presence in South Korea and other parts of Asia) and over 3M daily in-game transactions.
Their ZTX division is aiming to scale into web3 and we will be joining them as one of their premier partners
They are playing the long game and have a plan to grow within this industry and beyond.
This will be a fruitful relationship for the following reasons:
• organically increase consumers of the Sappy Seals' brand
• reaching new audiences that were previously harder to access (eastern regions)
• collaborating on fun activations and digital experiences
• (this is what people wanted Decentraland and Sandbox to be )
This partnership will be focused on the long term and we will be exploring different avenues as ZTX scales up.

Pixlverse Relaunch
Pixlverse and Pixl Pets will be rebooting under a new unified name that invokes strong feelings and envisions a world with much greater potential to become timeless.
There has been talks in regards to Pixlverse and how its attachment relates to seals, especially in regards to the marketing efforts. That has always been a conscious decision as we want to avoid attaching and marketing a pre-alpha state of the game versus a more polished release state. This will however change with the reboot as it will be the launchpad towards marketing the game universe and gameplay phases.
We're pretty excited to be taking Pixlverse and Pixl Pets a step further, unifying them to allow for an easier-to-understand ecosystem, whilst setting up a stronger brand in lieu of a fresh marketing push. Nothing about the game as you know it is changing, only the overall branding of the project in a way that better reflects the ultimate goal of becoming a loved and memorable IP both within crypto gaming and traditional markets. We will time the relaunch with the goal of garnering hype early and slow building momentum up to the games modular releases and likely tie-in a large ecosystem activation to kick things off.
Lastly, the big announcement of the reboot will be done through a trailer that will wake up the industry to the empire that is being built by seals.
