Two years ago today, TIMEPieces introduced our Genesis Collection.
38 artists — the best of the NFT space, the most innovative of our print cover artists, and the artists they thought the world should know about, created art in a red border against the theme: Build a Better Future.
Our goal was simple: to create a natively web3 community, with artists at the heart of it, that authentically leveraged TIME’s legacy of providing a canvas for the next generation of artists, as we had for Chagall, Lichtenstein, Basquiat, and Warhol. We were here for the art, because we believed in the transformational potential of the Space.
And we still believe.
We believe in the 158 TIMEPieces artists and 200+ curated photographers who are creating, building, and pushing the boundaries every day.
We believe in the provenance of our six Collections which include Genesis, Inspiration, Long Neckie Women of the Year, Timbaland’s Beat Club, Slices of TIME, and Deepak Chopra’s 7 Collection. Oh, and the first ever full magazine on the blockchain.
We believe in the power of Community — who have grown to a group of 55K lead by our 30 person Community Council and our Mods who are willing to help build the vision with us and bring it to life.
We believe in this Space as a power for good and a give first mentality which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity and the mobilization and highlighting of our community when people need support IRL around the world.
We believe in the long term and the power of the Space to change everything.
We’re still early.

This is definitely bittersweet as y’all know I love TIMEPieces, but you also know that while it is a major part of my web3 family, my original web3 family is the Cool Cats! While change is always scary, it is exciting to be headed home to help continue to grow the brand that supported my web3 growth and to put Blue Cat in front of as many eyes as possible during the leadup to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade this November in NYC! Sometimes you have to go to grow. ✈️
TIMEPieces is not, and never has been, about one person. Instead, it’s a family of the most creative, giving, and kind individuals I’ve had the pleasure of growing with for the last two years. I know it all will continue to thrive well beyond my contributions here, and continue to support artists, inclusion, and the development of web3.
I will always support the artists, charity, and the overall TIMEPieces community, but from the sidelines now–as I did with @coolcats before. Thank you all for changing my life; I hope I was able to impact yours in a meaningful way during my TIME here. 🫶🏼

Very late GM GM! (State of mind not time of day) “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always." Robin Williams.
Yesterday during TIME Hall, I shared my own battle with (totally curable) 🎀 cancer, which was diagnosed shortly after accepting the honor of leading the TIMEPieces team. To those who attended the TIME Hall, I am still being lifted by your rapid-fire heart emojis and support. 🙏🏼
For those who weren't able to attend yesterday, the TL;DR is that I need to make more space for my health and recovery. ❤️🩹 That means I won't be in NY for NFT NYC 😢 (I'm working towards JOMO over FOMO on that one.)
This means that for a few months, we may lay a little lower, but we will continue to uplift our artists who are just on 🔥; look for ways to add value to our collectors; and engage the community with content that moves the space forward, educates, connects, or is just downright fun.
I tend to look for the opportunity and the lesson in everything. I think the lesson for me is learning how to rest. I think the opportunity for the community is to lean into this decentralized and community powered movement even more.
I realize this game is an attention game, but we have always approached the space with a longer term view that is values based. Is this ideal? Nowhere close. Is it an opportunity to embrace web3 values? Absolutely.
TIMEPieces isn't about me. It is about US.
This is but a blip on the screen in the journey of life of our project. I am blessed with a strong foundation in my family, friends, the community, and TIME - as is TIMEPieces.
